IBM Strengthens Online Marketing with Coremetrics Analytics Software

New cloud analytics software helps IBM customers create smarter marketing strategies.

IBM (NYSE: IBM) has launched new cloud-based analytics software, Coremetrics Lifecycle, that Big Blue says will help boost online marketing results.

The announcement follow's IBM's recent launch of a new software and services practice dedicated to the emerging category of "Smarter Commerce," which combines commerce, marketing, social media monitoring and analytics software to provide insight into customer interactions.

According to IBM, Coremetrics Lifecycle will help customers capitalize on every marketing milestone, from customer acquisition to retention. The software is designed to help marketers make the most of interactions with prospects across all online marketing channels, including email, display advertising, search marketing and social media, based on real customer behavior.

In describing the new cloud-based analytics software, IBM said the software removes the guesswork in determining which campaigns and content are most effective with customers by providing analytics-based insight into how customer lifecycles change over time.

"IBM is driving the transformation of online marketing into a useful, consumer-facing service that drives business results,” John Squire, chief strategy officer of IBM Coremetrics, in a public statement. "We are dedicated to delivering capabilities that equip marketers with analytics-based insight into how customer lifecycles speed up or slow down over time, benchmarking current results against previous ones, and laying the foundation for consistently smarter marketing."

The IBM Coremetrics Lifecycle solution is focused on helping companies in three key areas: converting customers more quickly to increase ROI, identifying and leveraging successful motivators, and tailoring communications based on customer milestones. It includes customizable Lifecycle templates for a range of industries, actionable insights into online marketing program effectiveness and integration with other Coremetrics solutions for rapid retargeting of customer segments.

IBM said Coremetrics Lifecycle helps determine which marketing programs and content most efficiently yield high-value customers. The business can then select the most effective strategies and marketing budgets for every stage of the customer development cycle. Coremetrics Lifecycle is designed to deliver actionable business insights to enhance every online customer experience with targeted interactions, Big Blue said.
