New tracking and reporting service helps Interliant's hosted Domino customers while management solution provides software for MIT $50K Entrepreneurship Competition.

Interliant Inc. (NASDAQ:INIT), the Purchase, N.Y.-based provider of managed messaging, managed hosting, security and Web hosting services, today launched a new Web tracking and reporting service for its customers hosted on the Lotus Notes Domino platform.

The browser-based service has been based on WebTrends Reporting Center, a Web analytics solution from NetIQ Corp. (NASDAQ:NTIQ), and is designed so that Interliant customers can evaluate user activity, analyze site performance, and review advertisement effectiveness through capturing information on visitor behavior across multiple-server Web environments.

Information on site visitors can be delivered to customers as customized reports, of which there are 200 different styles that include tables and graphs. Interliant says the information gathered can be used to by clients to ultimately improve the overall quality and performance of their sites.

"This service demonstrates the impact that our Web site has on our business. We use the data that we receive from the WebTrends reports to make decisions in our customer service, marketing, and sales departments," says Justin Bill, e-commerce manager at C.P. Hall, a supplier of performance additives to the Polymer and Personal Care industries.

According to Patty Jacobson, vice president of Interliant's Managed Messaging Solutions: "The usage reports generated from WebTrends Reporting Center help our customers in making decisions on improving the quality, performance, and integrity of their Web sites, ensuring a more positive visitor experience," she says.

"It is essential for companies to monitor and manage the effectiveness of their Internet initiatives," argues Tom Kemp, senior vice president of products at NetIQ. "WebTrends software and eService solutions provide insights into visitors' behavior and preferences that translate into better business value and improved visitor-to-customer conversion rates. We are pleased to see that WebTrends Reporting Center is enabling Interliant to maximize their customers' e-business success," he says.

Interliant also announced today that it would provide a business plan competition management solution for the annual Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) $50K Entrepreneurship Competition. The collaborative solution, also built and hosted on the Domino platform, is designed to help the MIT student organizers, who manage all facets of the prestigious competition, efficiently conduct the process.

"When this solution is fully implemented, MIT $50K Entrepreneurship Competition organizers will be able to focus more time and effort on its mission and continue growing the success of the competition," says Barry Jacobson, senior director of Interliant's professional services group.
