Citrix Receiver will allow Chrome OS notebook users to enjoy all the benefits of a fast, lightweight, Web-based notebook computer for personal use, and still have easy, secure access to their Windows-based work applications, desktops and data at any time.

This week, Google showed off the first notebooks running Chrome OS. While notebooks running Google's operating system won't be available commercially until next year, Google already landed major support from Citrix Systems.

Next year, when notebooks running Chrome OS launch, Citrix Receiver, a software client for application and desktop virtualization, will be available as a Web App in the Chrome Web store. Users at the 250,000 businesses that use Citrix, which Google will likely be targeting, will be able to bring a Chrome OS notebook into the office and immediately have access to enterprise apps through Receiver, reports eWeek.
