CRM solutions provider Vignette powers the automobile giant's global road trip on the Web.
Vignette Corp.®, a provider of customer-driven Internet applications, has been selected by DaimlerChrysler to standardize the global Web architecture for all its Internet functions including intranet, extranet and World Wide Web sites. The global infrastructure installation was a well-coordinated effort between Vignette ® Professional Services (VPS) and DaimlerChrysler's CMS Competency Centers in Europe and North America.Vignette's applications were selected by DaimlerChrysler's Information Technology Management (ITM) team to help increase a synergistic Internet presence through the delivery of consistent messages. Vignette's products allow businesses to create and extend relationships with prospects and customers, and to facilitate high-volume transaction exchanges with suppliers and partners, all of which enhance customer satisfaction.
The changes will be evident as DaimlerChrysler re-launches the Mercedes-Benz site and introduces the Freightliner LLC site, all using Vignette applications. Additional projects are already under way in Europe, Asia and the United States and future plans include transitioning its global Internet presence to Vignette applications.
"Vignette's applications have been deployed at DaimlerChrysler since late 1998," said Mike Vollman, senior vice president of sales and services at Vignette. "In implementing these various Web, intranet and extranet applications with Vignette, DaimlerChrysler has taken a huge step in enhancing an enterprisewide e-business platform."
