Norton Company Offers Distributors Wireless Access to Customer Service and Order Entry
Leading abrasives manufacturer launches wireless Web site to allow distributors to access company information from anywhere in the world.
Norton Company, the first abrasives manufacturer to offer distributors real time direct access to online order processing and inventory availability, has launched a Wireless Abrasive connection, where its distributors can access information on Norton Company's stock and other items through any handheld Palm-type device.
With over 6,500 stock and 300,000 non-stock products, Norton manufactures the most extensive line of conventional abrasive and superabrasive grinding wheels, coated sanding products, diamond tools, sharpening stones and non-woven products.
From just about any location in the continental United States, distributors can determine product availability, pricing, lead-time and specific existing order status information and even enter orders on all Norton abrasives.
Norton Company has been a leading user of electronic communications to help distributors be more responsive to the needs of industrial abrasives users. Going wireless will allow any Norton distributor sales representative the ability to access current information on purchasing agents' most frequently asked order processing questions.
Distributors who currently access the existing Norton Company's private extranet site, AbrasiveConnection.com, will use the same password to access the new wireless version through handheld organizers that use the Palm operating system.
