Infor, a company known for its cloud ERP targeted to specific industry verticals such as automotive and hospitality, is purchasing cloud CRM provider Saleslogix as part of its efforts to bolster its suite of cloud software with sales and service functionality.

Financial terms of the deal between Infor and Swiftpage, the owner of Saleslogix, were not disclosed. Swiftpage purchased the Saleslogix business from Sage in 2013. Swiftpage continued to invest in Saleslogix, adding a variety of social media capabilities to the software earlier this year.

Based in Arizona, Saleslogix employs about 105 people. It has some 1,700 customers and shares more than 300 mutual customers with Infor.

“Infor can now deliver the first truly end to end demand-to-supply chain, from lead to ship, by integrating marketing and sales processes with supply chain planning, sales and operations planning, and production scheduling in real time,” said Charles Phillips, CEO of Infor, in a statement.

Infor’s plan is to augment the customer, marketing and sales data typically found in CRM systems with the transaction information contained in its ERP applications, then to provide additional analytics for further insight into customer behavior. Infor will integrate Saleslogix into its industry-specific ERP applications beginning with automotive, health care, public sector and manufacturing.

Though the purchase of Saleslogix puts Infor into a competitive position with CRM giant Salesforce, it will continue to support Inforce, a product it built on Salesforce’s Force.com platform that integrates Infor’s ERP and financial applications with Salesforce CRM.
