Groupon, a deal-of-the-day website that has amassed 35 million registered users, has been tapped by a Rolling Meadowns, Ill.-based information technology consulting firm. Ajilitee, which specializes in analytics and cloud computing, launched a deal on Groupon that offers buyers $25,000 worth of consulting services for $12,500, reports Chicago Breaking Business.Buyers can choose between two packages of services; each includes two consultants and fees, expenses and travel within the continental U.S. The firm is one of the first companies to leverage Groupon's platform for the business-to-business sector. Terrence Ryan, Ajilitee's chief executive, said:
This is a new space for everyone involved, but we have high hopes and can see how things can piece together nicely. But we've got to go through the test.
Ryan said the company began discussing how to best make use of social media last summer and that the firm approached Groupon with its idea several months ago. In addition, Ajilitee is looking for ways to expand its presence on both Facebook and LinkedIn.
