Groupon will use Vertica business analytics for revenue and other performance metrics.
Chicago-based Groupon will use Vertica's business analytics platform to analyze data to attribute revenue and other performance metrics to individual consumers. As reported this this story on Direct Marketing News, Vertica participated in an RFP process with 'approximately half a dozen companies.
"'We went with Vertica for a list of reasons,' he said. 'Most notably it has strong word-of-mouth among people I've worked with in Silicon Valley and it is tremendously easy to use.'
The companies also said in a statement that Groupon selected Vertica for its Amazon Elastic Cloud Computing offering, among other reasons.
