The new partnership will develop and market CRM apps for the financial services sector integrating financial data with e-business solutions.

News, financial data and tech company Reuters is teaming up with San Mateo, Calif.-based business software firm Siebel Systems Inc. to develop and co-market solutions for managing customer relationships in the financial services sector.

London-based Reuters , which culls data from some 260 stock exchanges and over-the-counter markets worldwide, said it will work with Siebel to integrate Reuters financial solutions with Siebel e-business applications.

Reuters also becomes a Siebel Premier Content Partner. Financial arrangements between the companies were not disclosed.

"By combining Reuters proven business integration skills with Siebel Systems' expertise in customer relationship management, we can lower total cost of ownership," said Alex Hungate, Reuters' chief marketing officer and president of its Focus Group Accounts business segment. "The relationship with Siebel Systems will enable our customers -- especially our wealth management customers - to better service their client base."

Last week, Reuters said it is working with Hewlett-Packard, Intel and Red Hat to make Reuters Market Data System (RMDS) available on Intel-based servers running Linux, the open source operating system. The service will run on Intel Xeon processor and Intel Itanium processor family-based servers from HP.
