In a merger of IT consultants and integrators, Innovent Solutions, of Los Angeles, has bought Reportability.com, of Boston, for an undisclosed sum.Innovent specializes in business intelligence (BI) and customer relationship management (CRM) applications. Reportability's focus is enterprise reporting and analysis work for financial service and insurance companies.

"Customers will see an immediate impact as our resources have increased, escalating our ability to quickly reach and support corporate IT departments across the
country," said Keith Mericle, Innovent's president.
Key Reportability staffers will be retained, Mericle said.
"The BI and enterprise reporting sector remains one of the bright spots of the software industry, and along with CRM has stuck near the top of IT managers' to-do
lists," said Allen Bond, former Yankee Group director and current president of THe Allen Bonde Group.
In addition to gaining a foothold in promising sectors, Innovent also diversifies its geographic presence. In addition to its Los Angeles headquarters, it has offices in
San Mateo, Calif., Minneapolis, Minn., and Raleigh, N.C.
, a fact that should help ease the integration of the companies.
