Last week at its annual user conference in Las Vegas, MicroStrategy announced Transaction Services, a new product that allows business intelligence users to connect their mobile devices to back-end transactional systems and databases. The platform, which is compatible with the iPad, iPhone and BlackBerry devices, allows mobile apps and Web-based dashboards to be imbued with action-taking features while also enabling companies to build mobile front-ends to existing transactional applications, according to MicroStrategy.

MicroStrategy also announced Cloud Intelligence, which will make the company's BI software platform available as a service in the cloud, says InformationWeek. In addition, Magic Software announced it will offer MicroStrategy's business intelligence offerings as part of an alliance between the two vendors, reports IT Jungle.
