Outtask Acquires Aspen’s ASP Hosting Division

Business service provider Outtask, Inc., is acquiring Aspen’s ASP hosting division’s customer base. As the ASP hosting entity for Aspen’s customers, the Alexandria, Va.-based Outtask will provide these companies with customer relations management applications from Siebel and financial applications from Great Plains. Specific terms of the deal were not disclosed.


The Herndon, Va.-based Aspen will continue to offer consulting services to small and mid-market companies.


Aspen’s former ASP customers will also gain access to Outtask’s business solution, including human resource management, travel and expense management, professional service automation, messaging and collaboration, web conferencing, and other key business applications and services.


“The ASP space continues it’s rapid consolidation to companies that can profitably accelerate the software as a service model,” Outtask President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tom DePasquale said. “Aspen’s ASP customers will benefit from Outtask, which provides strong integration, broad access to technology, and the comfort of outsourcing to a proven business.”


By providing a “predictable” monthly charge for the scalable name-brand applications, services, and support that companies need, Outtask offers its customers competitive advantages that were previously exclusive to the Fortune 500. As a result, more than 50 percent of Outtask’s customers have purchased additional applications or seats within 100 days of initial service.

Outtask offers all its clients a wide range of business application suites, including financial management, human resources and recruiting, customer relationship management, sales force automation, travel and expense management, messaging and collaboration, and professional service automation.


It also offers business services such as e-support, Internet connectivity, payroll, conference calling, Web-based conferencing, and resume location.


Aspen is a consulting firm that designs and implements an integrated applications suite that addresses the majority of middle-market clients’ business applications requirements, i.e., ERP, CRM, e-commerce and business intelligence.


Outtask currently employs over 100 people and has regional offices serving Boston, Chicago, New York, Portland/Seattle, San Diego, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C.
