Teradata Corporation (NYSE: TDC) has announced that Samsung SDS signed a ‘memorandum of understanding' with it, Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), and MicroStrategy Incorporated (NASDAQ: MSTR), to jointly plan for a private Cloud computing solution for its Samsung SDS Cloud Business Intelligence Global Services group.

According to the Teradata news release, the Samsung SDS Cloud Business Intelligence Global Service solution will offer Samsung SDS a new platform from which to provide fast, low-cost analytic information to boost the competitiveness of its users. The advanced analytics to be performed in the Cloud will offer intelligence for business forecasting and management. The Teradata analytic engine provides a solid foundation for private Cloud computing initiatives. Samsung SDS has developed a specialized Cloud Computing Data Center to support this innovative effort.

“‘The Cloud computing capability will eliminate the need to build costly physical data marts through their organization, because the production data can be accessed directly, without data movement or duplication,' said Graham
Lowden, Senior Vice-President of Asia Pacific for Informatica. ‘The importance of data integration and data quality management are increasingly important to effectively utilize data that is scattered across the enterprise.'

“”According to Lee Hyuk-Goo, MicroStrategy Country Manager, Korea, ‘MicroStrategy looks forward to the new Cloud computing capability. This partnership with Samsung SDS will be an important breakthrough in supporting an entirely new technology to support fast decision making.'”
