Businesses Counting on SaaS

A new study from Avanade finds that SaaS is becoming increasingly viewed as a strategic choice for business critical applications.

"The Avanade survey, conducted by Kelton Research of 502 executives and senior IT decision-makers found that while customer relationship (CRM) applications still top the list of in terms of planned deployments with 52 percent, business intelligence software was a close second at 47 percent," writes ITBusinessEdge’s Mike Vizard.

"Perhaps more striking, 40 percent of them said CRM software was a crucial differentiator for their company, while 37 percent identified business intelligence software as a ‘strategic weapon,’" Vizard writes.
