Luke Kanies, founder and CEO of Puppet, discusses the world of application and infrastructure orchestration and his company's latest take on it, dubbed Blueshift.
In the world of DevOps, Luke Kanies and his company Puppet are well known for helping enable configuration, management and deployment of applications and infrastructure. Puppet is now embarking on a new effort dubbed "Blueshift" that aims to help enable organizations better manage their enterprise apps in this age of rapid technological change.
The ideas of orchestration and a "single pane of glass" or source of truth for understanding what is running in an organization and how to control it are at the core of DevOps and more broadly of IT application and infrastructure management - and Puppet hopes to provide this with Blueshift.
In a podcast interview, Kanies discusses Blueshift and Puppet's goal of serving as a source of IT truth.
