Adapx has announced commercial availability of the Capturx for SharePoint
Service for automating data collection on paper forms with digital pens. In this news release,

Adapx

said that the new cloud service will be demonstrated live at this week’s 2010 AIIM Expo + Conference in Philadelphia.

Adapx Capturx for SharePoint is designed to speed up workflows and meet compliance requirements for automating data collection on paper forms. With Capturx for SharePoint, organizations can speed up workflows and meet compliance requirements by having data digitized as it’s written on paper and automatically integrated into Microsoft SharePoint Server.

“The new cloud service enables teams to benefit from instant access to this rich data and the workflow and collaboration capabilities of SharePoint without having to install or manage server software. As an alternative, teams still have the option to automate forms using Capturx for SharePoint installed on servers deployed on premise or Capturx Forms for Excel deployed on desktops. In all cases, teams avoid the cost, delays and risks from scanning, transcribing or losing paper documents.

“With the new Capturx for SharePoint service, engineers can now collect digital data instantly in the field using that same pen and paper process. The engineers print inspection forms using common printers and normal paper, which can be completed on site using digital pens. In addition to creating a normal ink record, digital copies of the data can be immediately sent to the SharePoint service using a Bluetooth connection between the pen and a mobile phone. Teams now gain immediate access to detailed information on facilities and assets, without the delay, expense, and risk of data re-entry.”
