BI Study: How to Determine Business Intelligence Readiness
Endeca Technologies has announced the availability of "Agile BI – Is it time to make the move?," a commissioned study conducted by Forrester Consulting on its behalf. According to Endeca Technologies in this
Business Wire news release, this study identifies 10 questions CIOs and other senior IT executives should ask themselves to determine whether their existing BI deployments are meeting the information needs of the organization or is it time to add agile BI capabilities.
“According to the study, ‘an agile BI model may very well be the vehicle that opens up information for use by all levels of the organization.’ The study’s survey of 226 business and IT professionals suggests that while not every organization may be ready for agile BI, the need is clear:
“66% of BI requirements change between a daily and monthly basis;
“45% of respondents said their current BI applications were between somewhat difficult to learn and navigate, and very difficult to learn and navigate; and
“71% of the respondents said they have to ask data analysts to create custom reports for them, and a whopping 36% of custom report requests require a custom cube or data mart to answer the request. Further to that, 77% of respondents cited that it takes between days and months to get their BI requests fulfilled.”
