CEO Involvement Needed For ERP Implementations

Improved technology is helping drive demand for ERP, however the fundamental requirement for ERP is also increasing. As noted in this report on IT Business Edge, getting your top-level executives and their direct reports into the boat with you is the difference between success and failure.


“Make sure your program is well conceived. You need to get and attain the proper executive alignment. Your CEO ought to author the program charter, not one of [Deloitte’s] people or someone further down in the organization. That’s got to be the rallying point for this spend. The charter is the thing executives need to support. If they didn’t author it and don’t own it internally, it will be hard for them to understand why they need to be involved at critical points during the program.”
