The Commonwealth of Virginia has become the first state in the nation to deploy a real time customer service solution via LivePerson. My Virginia, the official Virginia Web site, is facilitating real-time assistance to support and open a direct connection to constituents.

LivePerson will allow visitors to submit questions and receive real-time responses from the customer service staff of the Virginia Information Providers Network (VIPNet), the network manager for Virginia’s Internet portal. From the My Virginia homepage, constituents may click on the Live Help button to begin an Internet chat session with a member of VIPNet’s customer service staff. VIPNet customer service representatives can then respond to constituent questions by suggesting online government resources where citizens may find services or information related to state and local government.

The LivePerson real-time customer service solution is a free service for My Virginia site visitors and is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST.

The New York City-based LivePerson is an application service provider of technology facilitating real-time sales and customer service for companies doing business on the Internet.
