A new brand of business process management (BPM) called “decision management” software is gaining traction according to analysts. “The nascent field has been branded ‘decision management’ by researchers at IDC, whose report, Worldwide Decision Management Software 2010–2014 Forecast, posits that this new discipline and the technology that enables it will gain stature as business leaders recognize the importance of shifting from an artful approach to decision-making to a more scientific one.
