San Francisco-based Netcentives(TM) Inc., provider of loyalty solutions, has agreed to create a customized e-mail marketing program for Petco, the specialty retailer of premium pet food, supplies and services.

Netcentives’ technology and strategies allow companies to deliver relevant communications to target markets. In this strategic partnership Netcentives will design and implement an e-mail marketing campaign that focuses on each phase of the customer relationship process: attention, permission, involvement and loyalty. As a result, millions of personalized e-mails will be delivered monthly to Petco’s online and offline customers

Petco’s network currently consists of 530 stores and eight product distribution centers. They acquired the assets of petopia.com, its online e-commerce partner, in December 2000.
