YellowBrix Hires Collins

YellowBrix has appointed Sharon Collins as vice president of sales, where she will be responsible for developing the Alexandria, Va.-based company's sales teams and driving top line sales growth.


Collins brings significant sales, operational management and strategic marketing skills to YellowBrix. Previously, she served as the vice president of sales for Strategy.com, a subsidiary of MicroStrategy, Inc., where she reengineered their sales strategy and consequently generated $12.8 million in first year revenue.


Prior to Strategy.com, Collins held a number of positions with LexisNexis Group, a division of Reed Elsevier, plc. Most notably, Collins was director of sales operations and development for NEXIS where she designed and built a $260 million sales support organization.


Her primary responsibilities included the supervision of a 400-person staff and several departments, including competitive intelligence, sales education, sales compensation and recognition, process improvement and reporting and management systems.


YellowBrix develops automated information provisioning, provides software and services that transform content into actionable business information. YellowBrix technology allows enterprise organizations to automatically capture disparate information, package it, and direct the most relevant information to the appropriate user.


The company's clients include AOL Time-Warner, Blackboard, CMP Media, Lehman Brothers, Sony, and Unisys. Alliance partners include Computer Associates, Epicentric, IBM, Oracle and others serving the enterprise market.
