CA's new Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) solution combines project management with collaboration.

CA (NASDAQ: CA) has expanded its Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) solution by incorporating collaboration capabilities with (NYSE: CRM) Chatter integration.

Salesforce Chatter is the cloud CRM vendor's Facebook-like private social network for enterprise collaboration. By integrating the CA PPM solution with Salesforce Chatter, CA Technologies said it is responding to the new way companies are communicating and collaborating using social technologies.

"As organizations blend agile and traditional development to meet competitive demands, it's imperative that teams collaborate and share ideas, requirements and status updates in a meaningful forum," said Brian Bell, CA's general manager of service and portfolio management. "Integrating Chatter with our PPM solution helps manage collaboration across the innovation life-cycle."
