Alteryx, a company included in Gartner’s 2012 Business Intelligence Magic Quadrant, today introduced  Alteryx Strategic Analytics 7.0 at Inspire 2012, its annual user and developer conference.

According to the company, Alteryx Strategic Analytics is a “desktop-to-cloud” solution for producing and delivering analytic applications. Its three components are: a Designer’s Desktop, which includes a personal ETL (extract, transform, load) tool, as well as other data quality and data management tools; Analytic Apps, which allows users to perform ad-hoc analyses, produce interactive charts and maps, and create and share applications with a drag-and-drop wizard; and Cloud Services, which allows users to share and publish analytics apps to selected members of a network, and also to schedule and publish apps to public or private cloud servers for broader analytic consumption.

The newest release also adds social media connectors for Twitter, foursquare and Yelp; enterprise cloud data connects including Amazon S3 and Microsoft SharePoint; an Apache Hive connector that integrates data from Apache Hadoop; and native integration of the R programming language for predictive analytics.

Alteryx 7.0 also comes with pre-packaged analytic applications for key industries, including retail, consumer packaged goods, media and telecommunications.

“This version of Alteryx will empower Marcus & Millichap to make a significant leap in delivering important business intelligence to decision makers in our leadership team,” said John Chang, vice president of Research Services for Marcus & Millichap, a commercial real estate brokerage firm and long-time Alteryx client that participated in a beta evaluation of Alteryx Strategic Analytics 7.0. “Alteryx 7.0 offers new capabilities that enable our analytics team to publish actionable intelligence via secure cloud and web-based channels, thereby providing dynamic information options to our leadership team. This will enable managers to make better informed decisions more quickly than before.”

Earlier this month Alteryx launched an Alteryx Analytic Partner Program, designed to help consultants, value added resellers (VARs), system integrators (SIs) and marketing service providers (MSPs) deliver Alteryx solutions to their clients. A key feature of the program is the Alteryx Module Exchange, an online community of analytic applications where partners can post and promote their apps for industry verticals such as retail and telecommunications.

A 30-day free trial version of the software can be downloaded on the compan’s website.
