Open Text’s digital asset management solution will be sold in conjunction with SAP CRM software.

SAP and Open Text have announced an agreement under which SAP will resell Open Text’s digital asset managment (DAM) solution as SAP Digital Asset Management by Open Text.

“Open Text DAM for SAP, one of the components of the Open Text ECM Suite, will be positioned as part of marketing resource management (MRM) and intellectual property management (IPM) capabilities of the SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM) application,” writes CMSWire’s Irina Guseva.

“Since Open Text DAM will be sold in conjunction with SAP CRM, SAP Digital Asset Management should be able to support the entire marketing process from planning, developing content, execution and results measurement,” Guseva writes. “Some of the product features include the ability to collect, manage, search and distribute various types of digital assets. Ingesting, logging, transcoding and archiving of rich media content is also part of the integrated offering.”

“Many marketing organizations are making an investment shift to digitized marketing channels, thus creating a need for those organizations to develop, manage and distribute higher volumes of digitized content in a more systematic way,” says SAP’s Susan Popper. “By providing a robust and well-proven DAM solution with the marketing capabilities of SAP CRM, we can help customers deploy a flexible, efficient infrastructure marketers need to achieve more with less, and succeed in the evolving digital media landscape.”
