Whatfix Sets a Path Forward for Digital Adoption Solutions

Enterprise application adoption often requires tools and services to help organizations move to a digital first approach. That’s one of the driving themes behind Whatfix, which positions itself as a Digital Adoption Platform (DAP) provider.
Whatfix has been pushing its message and advancing its technology since 2014, and got a big vote of confidence on Feb. 19 with a $32 million Series C round of funding. The funding was led by Sequoia Capital India and included the participation of Eight Roads Ventures, a global proprietary investment firm backed by Fidelity, F-Prime Capital, and Cisco Investments.
“This latest funding will help us to expand our product offerings globally and continue to help enterprises realize the full value of their digitization effort,” stated Vara Kumar, Co-Founder and CTO at Whatfix. “Whatfix will continue to hire across all functions and geographies and provide the leading digital adoption platform that enables clients to drive adoption across applications, browsers and devices; is easy to deploy; has the most open ecosystem and is truly secure.”
Digital Adoption Platform
The basic idea behind the Whatfix platform is that it can help increase employee productivity by providing interactive and autonomous user guidance for enterprise application usage.
“The Whatfix Digital Adoption Platform is designed to provide personalized training for workers within web applications,” Julie Hiipakka, Vice President, Learning Research Leader at Bersin, Deloitte Consulting LLP, wrote in a Novebmer 2019 report titled, Learning in The Flow of Work Solutions, released in November 2019. “The solution delivers learning content in various formats, and it includes real-time guidance.”
Whatfix has grown its technology both organically and via acquisitions as well. In Oct. 2019, Whatfix acquired privately-held AI vendor Airim
“The Airim team is excited to join the Whatfix family and to provide users of the Whatfix platform enhanced digital adoption, based on autonomous hyper personalization for each user,” said Sujoy Chaudhary, CEO of Airim at the time of the acquisition. “In addition to the auto detection of user action and attributes, Airim’s Personalization Engine is configurable to target content further based on the user’s current location, preferred language, profile, past support tickets, chat history and stage in funnel.”
