Business software maker Sage today announced the launch of Sage SalesLogix 8, the latest edition of the company’s on-premise and cloud-based customer relationship management (CRM) platform.

Dan Wilzoch, Sage CRM Solutions senior vice president and general manager, says SalesLogix 8 streamlines role-based activities for sales organizations, enabling more targeted, timely and efficient workflows and customer interactions.

“Sage SalesLogix v8.0 emphasizes working smarter with role-relevant information. Empowering sales, marketing and support personnel to focus on customers, increase account penetration and build profitable relationships — no matter where they are or how they work — is essential,” says Wilzoch in a company statement.

The software features improved navigational elements, like role-aware scrollable grids, to help users arrive more quickly at the information they are seeking. New filtering capabilities combat information overload, delivering only relevant data and easing list management duties for users.

Bulk editing allows users to update several records with a single click. New calendaring functions offer customizable pop-up alerts, improved event editing and side-by-side views of users’ schedules. Search has been upgraded to retrieve information from more sources, including accounts, contacts, leads and products, among several others.

On the smartphone and tablet front, the SalesLogix Mobile module supports smart layouts, enabling seamless transitions from landscape to portrait views, and vice versa. Other mobile-centric improvements include revamped menus and search with auto-complete.

The product also supports Big Data analysis integration with the optional Sage SalesLogix Advanced Analytics component. It sources data from its own CRM stores as well external systems and services, to help sales professionals discover new opportunities or derive insights like sales performance by region, for example. Insights are presented via pre-built or customizable dashboards.

Under the hood, SalesLogix 8 offers new performance testing capabilities and can make use of more system memory than previous editions. Expanded customization options and web form publishing tools allow organizations to tweak their SalesLogix CRM experience to their liking.

Sage SalesLogix 8 is available now. Prices start at $795 per user for Windows. Sage SalesLogix Cloud subscriptions start at $65 per user per month. SalesLogix Advanced Analytics licenses costs $350 per month for 10 users and an administrator.
