IDC Launches Business Intelligence Tools Tracker

International Data Corporation (IDC) has announced the launch of the industry’s first global tracker covering the business intelligence tools market on a semiannual basis.
According to this news release on Business Wire, the Worldwide Semiannual Business Intelligence Tools Tracker covers five regions and 13 of the largest country markets.


“Results from the IDC Worldwide Semiannual Business Intelligence Tools Tracker show that the global market for business intelligence tools grew a very healthy 13.9% during the first half of 2010 (1H10) compared to the first six months of 2009, reaching $3.9 billion in software revenues. Within the $3.9 billion overall market, the End-User Query, Reporting, and Analysis segment accounted for $3.0 billion in revenues. Posting growth of more than 44% from the same period in 2009, India was the fastest growing of the large country markets with $23.6 million of vendor revenues in 1H10. Over the next five years, the Latin America region is expected to grow the most, at an average annual rate of just over 14%. The other regions are expected to experience similar growth, with the exception of North America and Japan, which are forecasted to grow in the 4-5% annual range.”
