ManagedOps Will Support Microsoft CRM Product

ManagedOps, a Bedford, N.H.-based ASP wholesaler, announced today that it will offer its Managed Operations oursourcing service for Microsoft's customer relationship management product, which was announced yesterday.

Microsoft Customer Relationship Management will be available either late this year or early in 2003. A Microsoft spokeswoman told ASPnews that a beta version of the software, which is being built from the ground up using the .Net framework, will be available early this summer.

The software will be aimed at small and medium-sized businesses and will be integrated with Microsoft Great Plains as well as other Microsoft products. ManagedOps is a Great Plains certified partner and a Microsoft Gold Certified partner for hosting and application services.

ManagedOps CEO Dan Taylor told ASPnews that while he hasn't seen Microsoft's new CRM product yet, the company's 200 reseller partners will offer the CRM software either as an on-premise product or as a hosted application.

Taylor said it's significant that the Microsoft CRM product will be “tightly integrated with Outlook” as well offered as a browser-based product. ManagedOps will continue to offer Siebel's CRM software, Taylor said, but he added that new Microsoft offering will be geared for a “different kind of customer.”

ManagedOps' Managed Operations service is designed to manage the software components, infrastructure, security, staffing and support needed to keep applications running smoothly. “By outsourcing their CRM applications, customers don't have to worry about the security of the application, 24×7 staffing or system availability,” Taylor said. “That's all taken care of as part of the Managed Operations service.”

The company is listed by ASPnews as a Top 20 ASP.
