For your small businesses to succeed, you know you need to stay on top of what's happening in your industry as well as with your competitors, suppliers and partners. And you need your employees to do the same. RSS technology helps you do that by allowing you to pull in the news from countless disparate sources. However, in today's world of information overload, managing those feeds is a time-consuming task.

Looking to help automate that process, NewsGator Technologies, a company well-known in the RSS world, last week announced the release of NewsGator Enterprise On-Demand, a Web-based service designed to help small- to mid-sized businesses improve the way they find and distribute information. NewsGator Enterprise On-Demand is designed to provide the same benefits as the company's server-based product, but because it's a hosted application, you don't have to incur the expenses of new hardware or IT staff.

NewsGator Enterprise On-Demand
NewsGator Enterprise On-Demand lets you manage RSS feeds by individuals and groups so you can be sure the right people are seeing the right information.

“For companies and groups that need the capability to streamline the management and distribution of news and information to employees, but don't have the resources to handle the management of the technology, NewsGator Enterprise On-Demand is the perfect solution,” said Dave Keller, general manager, Enterprise Solutions, for NewsGator Technologies.

While you can certainly manage your RSS feeds using a free service or aggregator, NewsGator Enterprise On-Demand does offer advantages that provide a level of control for managing information from a wide variety of sources. For example, the service is designed to make it easier for workers to manage their individual feeds and for administrators to manage group or department feeds.

In addition to the Web portal, you can use NewsGator's e-mail, desktop and mobile readers and keep articles synchronized. To collaborate with co-workers, you can clip articles and distribute to others. You can also customize the service to reflect the look and feel of your company's intranet.

NewsGator Enterprise On-Demand is available for a free, 30-day trial here . After the trial period, the product's annually renewable subscription costs $100 per person per year.

RSS Meets CRM
In a move to help businesses provide their salespeople with a steady flow of relevant information, NewsGator Technologies and Spanning Partners today announced a partnership to deliver updates from Salesforce.com through NewsGator's NewsGator Enterprise On-Demand. The goal of the partnership is to provide sales, marketing and service teams with instant access to CRM information via the Web, mobile devices, Microsoft Outlook and desktop readers.

You can choose from dozens of feeds or create your own to track leads, opportunities, activities, contacts, documents and support cases to provide the highest level of customer service. NewsGator customers using Spanning Salesforce will always have the latest information available without needing to log-in to Salesforce.com.

Spanning Salesforce is available for $129.95 per user, per year or $12.95 monthly.
