AVOS, a new Internet company led by YouTube founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, has acquired Tap11.com, a real-time business intelligence platform.

Tap11’s platform integrates social media publishing and analytics into a single dashboard to allow marketers to monitor, engage and measure the impact of their campaigns. The result is faster, more relevant data to maximize social marketing ROI, according to the companies.

The announcement follows the recent acquisition by AVOS of social bookmarking service Delicious.com. Delicious.com and Tap11 will further the company’s ambition to create a content discovery and sharing platform for both consumers and enterprise users.

“Our vision is to create the world’s best platform for users to save, share and discover new content,” Hurley said in a statement. “With the acquisition of Tap11, we will be able to provide consumer and enterprise users with powerful tools to publish and analyze their links’ impact in real-time.”

Adam Zbar, CEO of Tap11, will stay on as head of business operations and strategy, and Tap11 CTO Braxton Woodham will become head of engineering at AVOS.

“We’re excited to join Chad and Steve to take Tap11 to the next level,” said Zbar. “With over 1 billion users on the social web and no good tools to systematically archive and analyze this data, there is a massive loss of marketing intelligence.”

Tap11 is located in San Mateo, the small Northern California town where Hurley and Chen started YouTube, which was acquired by Google in 2006 for $1.65 billion in a stock-for-stock deal.

Hurley and Chen appear to be aggressively hiring to build a world-class team to develop the best information discovery service on the Web. On the AVOS website, the current job information description says the pair is seeking “individuals as passionate as we are about using technology as a disruptive, positive force to change the world.”
