Coming on the heels of layoff announcements, ATG (Art Technology Group, Inc.) has launched the ATG Certified Professional Program. Designed to promote quality and efficiency among developers using the ATG Dynamo® e-Business Platform, the program will set professional standards and provide competency assessments. The ATG Dynamo® e-Business Platform enables Internet-reliant enterprises to manage and build their online customer relationships while marketing, selling and supporting their products and services.

The program was developed as a result of customer demand for standards so that ATG Dynamo developers can be measured, monitored and evaluated. The certification also acts as a quality measurement for members of the ATG Global Alliance Network, helping ATG assess its partners based on customer-centric measures, such as certification, number of successfully deployed sites and customer satisfaction.

“Certification has been proven as a key way to maximize performance and productivity by validating that candidates can apply their knowledge and skills to their job as an application developer,” said Bernard Bailey, vice president of Global Services, ATG. “Through the Certification program, we help ensure developers have the skills necessary to deliver projects on time and on budget. Maintaining our customer focus, the Certification program is yet another way ATG takes into account the full picture of our customers' needs, from technical requirements to the bottom-line.”

Sixty-eight percent of the candidates that took the exam during the beta period have become certified. ATG Dynamo certifications will be allocated on many levels including fundamentals and data access, e-commerce and eCRM (electronic customer relationship management). ATG Education Services supports the certification process with a recommended curriculum of course work, self-directed learning and field experience.

Headquartered in Cambridge, Mass. with additional locations throughout North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, ATG has a network of 300+ partners and has delivered solutions to more than 730 worldwide customers.
