Contact management is one of the most important tasks in customer relationship management (CRM), especially for smaller businesses who differentiate themselves from their larger competitors by fostering close relationships with customers.

Zoho, which offers applications for business tasks including project management and invoicing, has introduced ContactManager, a CRM application geared toward small businesses that helps users create, organize and view information about their business contacts and capture all interactions with the contacts in a central place. That includes information like tasks, comments, notes and history, including all email conversations.

ZohoContactZoho also promises that the app gives users an easy way to manage and distribute CRM tasks within teams. Action items can be tracked and completed based on priority. With task templates, best practices can be shared with team members. A Feeds feature allows team members to share updates with each other, and to respond, collaborate, exchange ideas and make collective decisions.

ContactManager is available as a native application for iPhone and Android. It can be downloaded from the Apple store or the Google Play store. Zoho’s Card Scanner app for iPhone integrates with Zoho ContactManager, allowing users to scan business cards to extract contact information through their mobile phones and save it in ContactManager.

Zoho’s ContactManager is also integrated with Google Apps and will be available in Google AppMarketplace.

“Small businesses need a simple solution to share contacts within their teams. Due to lack of better tools or tools currently available being too broad for their need, they end up using spreadsheets to share contacts between team members,” said Raju Vegesna, Zoho evangelist.”Our commitment to small business users encouraged us to fill this gap with a simple, yet powerful contact manager.”

Zoho ContactManager is available now. After a 30-day free trial period, users can subscribe to Zoho ContactManager at a “Pay What You Want” rate that Zoho says lets each user set his or her own subscription price, as low as $1 per month.
