SAP Could Lose More CRM Software Market Share

Trefis price estimate is that CRM software constitutes 15 percent of SAP’s stock. According to this Trefis report, SAP leads the $10 billion customer relationship management (CRM) software market, but expect SAP competitors Microsoft, Salesforce.com and Oracle to gain share at SAP’s expense.


“The CRM software helps companies better serve their customers by tracking customer information and leveraging customer data to gain business insights. We estimate the CRM software to constitute 15% of $50 Trefis price estimate for SAP’s stock.

“We expect SAP’s share in the CRM market to decline from 22% in 2009 to about 19% by the end of the Trefis forecast period.

“During the same period, we expect Oracle to gain market share from 16% to 17%, Salesforce.com to gain share from 11% to around 15%, and Microsoft to gain share from 7% to around 10%.”
