Crossvue, a vertical service provider for the retail market, Thursday says it signed a deal to supply its Digital Receipt services to Virgin Entertainment Group‘s Virgin Megastores.

The deal means the popular entertainment retailer can now track promotions across online and offline sales channels and to more effectively manage the success of ongoing marketing campaigns.

San Jose-based Crossvue says it will also supply a service called eReceipts, which provides instant detailed transaction information via the Internet. The eReceipts are designed to reduce costs associated with fraud, credit card charge-backs and disputes.

“Customer care is of the highest priority to us and we have always looked for innovative ways to better serve our customers,” says Virgin Entertainment Group vice president of marketing Dawn Roberts. “This new service will allow us to better understand customers’ preferences, while helping us to reduce operational costs at the same time.”

The eReceipts work with existing systems for customer relation management (CRM), loss prevention, call center management as well as loyalty programs. Crossvue says the technology lets retailers analyze trends, identify where fraud is occurring, provide new insights into customer behavior and streamline all receipt related functions.

“As a result, Digital Receipt Services will help retailers save operating expenses while at the same time optimizing promotional spending,” says Crossvue CEO Aziz Valliani.
